As a creative producer, I want to tell not only my story but also those of others like me who were born within the chasm of the transatlantic slave trade and the eminence of transnationalism. My parents, like many, left Nigeria to secure promised opportunities for their unborn children. While in many ways, I have benefitted from this, I have found myself at times, feeling boundless, feeling without a home. 

Until recently. 

With this film, I want to explore how creative arts and food carry culture forward. How they center voices and perspectives that have been on the margins of blackness, and how it calls us all home to connect with Africa. Even more personally, this film is a love letter to my daughter, to remind her to be proud of her heritage while honoring her journey towards becoming and finding her place.
